Microsoft has announced recently that it has acquired Yammer, the four-year old social network for enterprises, for $ 1.2 billion in cash. Specialists consider that the Microsoft social network strategy begins to take shape through this transaction.
But the really big news in this transaction hasn’t come to the ears of top tech bloggers and journals, yet. Hence, The Japer’s Tribune is the first publication to announce that Microsoft will change Yammer’s name into YAMMAF, acronym for Yet Another Microsoft Application Fails. Microsoft is well-known for its messaging and social applications that didn’t have any real impact on this market like MSMQ, MSN, Windows Live Messenger and the list could go on.
